Satin skirts (slip skirts) can be found everywhere right now. And although I love the trend, I wasn’t sure how it would look on me. My midsection has always been my problem area and we all know that satin isn’t the most forgiving material. I’m all about the “wear want to you” “girl do you” mantras, but I prefer not to highlight that area, you know? A couple of months ago I decided to give this trend a go. I ordered this beautiful green satin skirt from Asos and when it came I still wasn’t all the way convinced that this was for me so it sat on my clothing rack for a few weeks.
I decided last weekend that it was time to give it a try. I put on my reinforcements and a slip under the skirt and surprisingly, I loved it! Ladies and gentlemen I have fully jumped into this trend. So much so, that I have a second skirt that I can’t wait to wear and one on the way. Don’t judge! Now, although satin is a thinner material we still can transition these skirts to fall. I plan on pairing my skirts with tights, booties, boots, leather biker jackets, and denim jackets like the one I’m wearing here. Oh, I meant to tell you that the fabric of this skirt has some stretch. We know that ALWAYS helps.
