Essence 8th Annual “Black Women In Hollywood”

Yesterday was Essence’s “Black Women in Hollywood” luncheon. This beautiful event took place at the Beverly Hills hotel and the guest list was filled with the who’s who in Hollywood. Actors, actresses, bloggers, and musical geniuses filled the building as Essence took time to pay homage to some of the most influential women in Hollywood. Can you imagine the talent that must have filled that room? Along with talent came some beautiful fashions at yesterday’s luncheon. Below are some of my favorite looks from this auspicious occasion.

“Black-ish” star Tracee Ellis Ross was radiant in all white (I mean she does no wrong!) while Teyonah Parris chose a jewel toned emerald green pants suit.

Erica Tazel & “How to Get Away With Murder” star Aja Naomi King both chose black and white for the occasion.

“Orange is the New Black” star Uzo Aduba was in Spring form in a floral sheath dress while Tika Sumpter gave us all black with a lace pump.

Jurnee Smollett like Miss Ross gave us all white but with a floral pump for some added color, while “Selma” star Carmen Ejogo chose a sheath dress in mixed prints and textures of black and white.

Out of all of the looks I’d have to say that Teyonah Parris’s emerald green pants suit has to be my number one pick. I just love bright colors but have vowed to add more black and white to my closet as I also love those colors alone and together.

Which were your favorite looks from the event? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
